Beutelsbacher stands for the highest quality

Best ingredients

When choosing our fruits and vegetables, we always make sure they fulfil our high quality standard. If you want to know more about our fruits and vegetables, you can find further information below.

Organic and Demeter

Our juices are certified by one of the most experienced ecoregulation boards in Germany. You can find more details below.

Vegan

Apart from a few exceptions, all our products are vegan. Further details on that below.

No genetic engineering

We do not use genetic engineering in the production of our Beutelsbacher fruit juices. You can read more about that below.

Demeter Logo

The Demeter trademark

The Demeter symbol identifies products from biodynamic agriculture. The top priority is the high ecological standard with regard to the production and processing of ecological agricultural products. The guidelines of the Demeter Association go far beyond the EU regulation.

The Biolabel

The new EUBiolabel (EURO leaf) only identifies organic food. This calls for comparatively high ecological demands on the production, processing, trading and control of products from ecological agriculture, but it creates nutritionally healthy food and reduces the environmental pollution caused by agricultural production.

The BIO-Sign

The regional origin of the products results in additional ecological advantages for the products: regionality promotes short transport and distribution routes, which eliminates environmentally harmful transports over long distances.

Vegan explanation

For the definition of vegan, we refer to the criteria of the English Vegan Society founded in 1944 (as of June 2013).

We are happy to inform you that all our products are vegan, except:

Honey as an ingredient:
According to this definition, honey is an ingredient of animal origin and is used in this product: Organic whole fruit sea buckthorn + organic blossom honey + acerola

Clear juices or spritzers made from pears and quinces:
These juices have to be treated beforehand with proteins in order to precipitate the sediment for the filtration, which are considered auxiliary materials because the proteins are separated off again during the filtration. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a vegan protein that works without problems for all types of fruit and harvest years. Therefore, in the worst case, the juice could become cloudy and flocculate.

We have therefore decided not to use the “vegan” label for these varieties.

Packaging and Labeling:
We guarantee that the product packaging we use does not require animal testing and that the printing inks and adhesives for our labels are purely vegetablebased.

No genetik engineering

We hereby confirm that, according to the current state of knowledge within the meaning of “Regulation (EC) No. 1830/2003 on genetically modified food and feed” and “Regulation (EC) No. 1830/2003 on the traceability of foods produced from genetically modified organisms and feed”:

  •  no genetically modified organisms, especially no transgenic organisms (in accordance with Art. 2 Paragraph 2 of Directive 90/220 / EEC)
  • no genetically modified parts of organisms (according to Art. 2 Paragraph 2 Directive 90/220 / EEC)
  • not the products of genetically modified organisms (according to Art. 2 Para. 2 Directive 90/220 / EEC)
  • no ionizing rays

are being used.

Demeter vegetables from seedfast seeds

All of our Demeter vegetable juices and Demeter mixed vegetable juices are made from seedfast seeds.

Seeds that can pass on the same properties in the second generation are referred to as “seedfast”. Organic farming requires seeds as a livelihood that are fully reproducible, are ecologically controlled and do not come from genetically modified seeds. This is the only way to ensure the independence of organic farmers from seed manufacturers.

The Demeter organisation has therefore drawn up a guideline for biodynamic cultivation, which excludes vegetable varieties that have emerged from cell fusion techniques. The biodynamic seeds are certified by Demeter. Various initiatives for the breeding of seedfast seeds were also founded. There is not only holistic work and work without genetic engineering, but research is also carried out on the preservation and further development of old grain and vegetable varieties according to the following criteria:

  •     Taste
  •     Harmony in growth and shape
  •     Plant health and resistance (disease                tolerance)
  •     Vigor of the plants (vitality)
  •     Ripening ability
  •     Food quality
  •     Adaptability to the location

The preservation and breeding of nonseed varieties preserves biodiversity. Seedfast seeds can be further developed by the farmers themselves and adapted to regional site conditions. Seedfast seeds tend to grow more slowly. This favors the development of an intense aroma.

Demeter project developed in partnership since 1975

Barbera / Montepulciano grapes from Piedmont and Abruzzo:

In Piedmont (since 1975) and in Abruzzo (since 1984) we maintain our decadeslong partnerships with Demeter winegrowers of the exquisite grape varieties Barbera and Montepulciano. Barbera impresses with its deep red color and intense fruit acidity. Montepulciano tastes sweeter than Barbera and therefore enables a balanced sugaracid ratio.

Mangoes from India:

Our Demeter Alphonso Mangos come from selected Demeter projects that we developed in partnership and that we launched in 1990. We know the best cultivation locations and mango varieties in India. These mangoes are ripened and handpicked before being processed to make the most aromatic mango pulp, which we use in our mango products.
